Truro away   Message 50647Fri, 31 January 2020 18:33

Predictions?[ 7 votes ]
1.Truro Win 5 / 71%
2.Farnborough Win 1 / 14%
3.Draw 1 / 14%

Tomorrow we have quite a long trip to Truro, and as I've seen and heard, the pitch seems to be OK, fingers crossed.

Truro are currently top of the league and that makes me nervous. Going to a game at the other end of the country and it not being entertaining does not seem like something I would want to witness. Regardless, 3-0 to Truro is my prediction.

Other games (teams with asterisk next to their name can influence our league position)

Beaconsfield v Weston Super Mare*
Blackfield v Chesham
Hartley Wintney v Dorchester
Hayes and Yeading v Gosport
Hendon v Yate
Merthyr v Met Police
Poole v Swindon S
Salisbury v Tiverton
Taunton v Harrow
Walton Casuals v Wimborne

Beaconsfield (home)   Message 50600Fri, 24 January 2020 15:41

Predictions?[ 6 votes ]
1.Farnborough Win 5 / 83%
2.Beaconsfield Win 1 / 17%

Tomorrow afternoon we face Beaconsfield, a team that are 21st in the league and currently struggling for form, having only won four times this season.

Previous meetings:

17th August 2019 - Beaconsfield 1-3 Farnborough
19th January 2019 - Farnborough 2-0 Beaconsfield
17th November 2018 - Beaconsfield 2-6 Farnborough

We should win and I hope we do. I'm going to predict a 3-0 win.

Other fixtures (teams with an asterisk next to their name can influence our league position)

Chesham v Taunton
Dorchester v Salisbury
Gosport* v Merthyr Town*
Harrow* v Hartley Wintney
Met Police v Blackfield & Langley*
Swindon S v Truro
Tiverton v Walton Casuals
Weston Super Mare* v Hayes & Yeading
Wimborne* v Hendon
Yate Town v Poole

M4 road closures   Message 50570Fri, 17 January 2020 22:42

Big closures on the M4 this weekend.
Not sure if the closures include entry westbound at J11 (Madjeski ) or not, but it may be worth going to Newbury via Basingstoke A339 to join M4 to make sure.

Good luck to all travelling.

Squad Update   Message 50550Sat, 11 January 2020 20:49

Although really it should have been headlined as an injury update.

Presume the trialist is Kamara. Looks like he may have been at FC Kallon, Anderlecht, Hornchurch, East Thurrock and then joined Newcastle Utd's academy. Although a similarly named player was also at Met Police and Langford.

It's reported that Roman Abramovich put £247 MILLION in to Chelsea during 2018/19, and the Club STILL LOST £96 MILLION POUNDS!!!!

£90 million in compensation to sacked Managers since 2004!.

Wage bill increased by £41 million in 2019!

Dread to think what the finances are like at City, or my own beloved Wolves??

The world truly has gone stark staring mad!!!!!!!

Makes you more thankful for what we have at the Boro!!

Harrow Borough (home)   Message 50155Mon, 11 November 2019 15:37

Farnborough host Harrow Borough on Saturday.

Harrow are 11th on 19 points (Form in the league is LWDLL)
Boro are 12th on 19 points as well (Form in the league is LWDWL)

Previous results

Farnborough 4-1 Harrow (Feb 2019)
Harrow 5-0 Farnborough (Dec 2018)
Farnborough 2-1 Harrow (Dec 2015)
Harrow 3-1 Farnborough (Oct 2015)

Almost identical to Harrow, so this may be a difficult game, however, if things go our way perfectly, then we could be pushed up to ninth.

What is your prediction for the game?

They also need re-usable carrier bags

Swindon Food Collective are a food bank in Swindon, run by a team of 60 volunteers and one member of staff. They aim to reduce the impact of food poverty in Swindon and surrounding areas.

Huge turnout today to say goodbye to a great friend of the Boro.

The Chapel was full to the rafters, and standing room only.
Trust Ginger to make the comment " We need a good steward here!"
I bet Chris would laugh at that!!

Great sight with Boro and Chelsea shirts everywhere, and the coffin covered in a Boro flag with P.R.E printed on it, nice touch

Good to see some old faces, Jim Wigmore and Nic Ciardini, making it as well.

A good farewell to the Big Man.

Keep em in order up there Chris!!

More trouble down the road at Blazingsmoke.   Message 49303Tue, 30 July 2019 21:51

One of the new club's directors has gone public about concerns they are being royally shafted by Raffi who really was just using the club as a trojan horse to develop the land at the Camrose where the profits generated will dwarf any money he put in to the club over the years... Money that was also no-doubt cleverly accounted for so was written-off against tax elsewhere for him:

https:// www.basingstokegazette.co.uk/sport/17801965.town-39-s-future -uncertain-lack-money---new-director-reveals-costs-spiral/

Things are looking bleak for survival to the end of this season, let alone the longer term future :(
