MATCH PHOTOS: Farnborough vs Crystal Palace   Message 39115Tue, 09 August 2016 22:54

Evenin' all..

Match photos from the friendly with Crystal Palace can be seen here. Can't say this is my finest 90 minutes work. Having the monochrome setting on when the players came out wasn't very clever of me - sorry mascots and mascot family ;-(

Hope to improve and have my match fitness back for Kidlington ;-)

Mornin' all - THREE points to start the season and a bright sunny day too...what more could a former Prospect Estate boy like me ask for ;-)

Pics are here - all rather rushed this week as I'm off to a festival today...

On a positive note , it was nice to see Alan at today's game, doesn't get out much these days to football, but always has a smile on his face, and a story to tell
Nice to see you Alan ...

Some pics from the friendly with Kingstonian can be seen here. I'm never sure what the 'public view' is like on that Flickr site but if the monitor icon is visible click on it for the slideshow view.

See in the article about Alan Inns in this weeks Non League Paper, Alan gets to list the three best Managers he has played for. There is no mention of our glorious Manager.
Considering he was Captain of the Boro, we did not get a very positive mention.

The Hand of God   Message 38439Thu, 23 June 2016 09:20

Watched 'the hand of god' on ITV 4 last night, still seething about it to this day..!!!

Think I watched the semi final (Argentina v Belgium) a few days later on a big screen at Glastonbury with Steve & Karen and Paul Jakeway (Jake).

I wont even acknowledge that the cheating git was a genius, he was probably already on drugs then....

If any of you are at a loose-end for a footy fix on Monday, a mate's team, South View, are taking-on a 'Reading Legends XI' at the Camrose in aid of the Naomi's House Hospice... It should be a giggle as South View are a Sunday pub side and this is their last ever match!

Kick-off is at 3pm if anyone is interested... With the request to wear YELLOW!

With all the hype about the Eddie the Eagle film, how many of our supporters remember when Eddie the Eagle played on our hallowed turf in a Charity Match.
I remember talking to him after the game in the upstairs bar but cannot remember the year.

Needham Coach raffle winner   Message 37688Mon, 04 April 2016 10:56

The 'Dave's Swindle' coach raffle wasn't claimed after the game on Saturday.

So if you still sit with the winning score ticket of 2-0 Boro, or Boro 2-0 you can collect £20 this Saturday, Vs H & R, at the 50/50 table. Must see the ticket.

If still not claimed I will use it towards a mini bus to Leatherhead, if we get enough that want to use it!

Bus hire is £100 plus fuel, so 18 of us should be able to do it for well under a tenner.

Message here, or ring me 07795093505. First come first served.

He's going travelling.

Oli and Oyenuga definitely missing next match.

Gallagher now suspended for 4 matches. If it'd free up some budget to bring in another midfielder I'd have already let him go.

That National League striker was Sahr Kabba from Welling, but he's decided not to join.

We're fxcked.

Signed on dual reg for Staines now.

Looks like we will need more signings, we have a real lack of bodies with the likes of Jenkinson and now Wright departing. Then definately out injured are Barton and Joseph-Whittingham with Oli and Oyenuga having been injured yesterday. Hallahan and Simpson are then AWOL. James-Lewis then not in team yesterday.

Edit: Hallahan's back at Basingstoke. Potentially Vatsuk is the only senior striker in the squad.

Mutero   Message 37382Sun, 13 March 2016 09:34

A Zimbabwe U21 and U23 international.

Started off in Reading's Academy and had loans spells at Maidenhead, Didcot and Hungerford. Joins QPR on a short term contract on being released by Reading. That's not extended and joins a team in Greece. Released by them in Nov 2013 and next appears at Beaconsfield earlier this seasons. Plays a couple of games for Staines and then joins us.

Doing some digging it looks like he joined Nuneaton in pre-season 2014/15 but it took 6+ months for his international clearance to come through. By that time a new manager came in and didn't want him so he missed an entire season. Spent 15/16 pre-season on trial at Stranraer and Basingstoke.
