Oh dear..so all associated with Farnborough have had to travel when an educated guess says it was better to call off game at pitch inspection this morning.

That's poor, very poor!!

Not the decision to call it off, but the late decision when, even at 9.30 there was considerable doubt as to the weather conditions this afternoon or evening.

No one can envisage a sudden downpour, fog, or whatever, but this storm was extremely well documented and forecast, and Wimborne F.C. should be held to account for some unnecessary expense and waste of everyone's time!!

People have to travel all that way to find that the game has been called off less than 1 hour before kick off. Surely the match ref would get there and check a little bit earlier as a warning of travelling fans/players?

Got there at 2.30 to find minibus about to leave. It was pretty wet but it's the timing that stinks...

See our club are refunding travel expenses, very decent of them

Mickey

Great offer from the Club Officials to make refunds to travelling supporters. Well done to all, and thank you!

May I suggest that an invoice is sent to Wimborne F.C. for compensation and a wasted day!!!

Mickey, you should have made your way to the bar where we were talking to Boro legend Danny Holmes, the Wimborne Manager. As you know, Danny played in the Torquay game and both West Ham FA Cup games getting man of the match in the second game even though we lost in extra time.

Which would be filed in the bin, exactly the same as if a referee had passed Cherrywood road fit at 9.30am, and then another ref deemed it unplayable at 2pm.

Referee 1, should have looked at the forecast and postponed it straight away as I predicted would happen on Twitter, just after the match was declared on.

Brian, didn't go to extra time, Trevor Morley scored in the 87th minute. I hate the 87th minute (Fulham).

Rhetorical suggestion of course Mark, as I know it would never happen!

The blame, as you say, is fair and square on the shoulders of the first Official who didn't use his/her head!!

The home Club also have some responsibility as well though, in my view.
They were aware of the situation and forecast as well as the rest of us!! There should have, at least, been a further inspection at say 11-00, knowing the weather reports.
