We started very well, missed a couple of good chances before scoring, looked like we were going to romp to an easy win so sat back and let them come at us. They took their chances and hit 2 leaving us chasing a game we could have buried in the opening 5 mins. At this rate it will finish 4-4.

You have to wonder some times, just what goes in the minds of Managers and coaches!!

We set up in a really strange way. John Oyenega, a natural right side defender/wing back playing left midfield, and a back three with Batman playing on the right side of a back three with the and the new signing Chambers in the centre with Leggett left!!

Good signs early on with an excellent one touch, pass and go, up front resulting in a typical Coles poached effort.

Then it all goes wrong, when the oppo get the freedom of the Boro on the left wing, with acres of space on the right!!

When we will we ever learn that 3 at the back DOES NOT WORK!!!, and you can't expect Reggie to do the shuttle cover work all the time. He is much better as an attacker, and it showed second half. Definitely M O M in my opinion!!

Consequently we find ourselves in deficit by 1-2, and their tails are up.

It took us half an hour to recognise the problem and deal with it, by moving John to the right and form a back four, as it should have been from the start!!
That is ridiculous at any level!!

From then on there was no further raids down that side, BUT WHY SO LONG TO DO IT!!!

It petered out in to a slog from then on and we gained a point when it should have been three, if we had applied our tactics better in the first place.

Lessons learnt?? I'm not holding my breath, and it's disappointing, after such a good run recently that we return to such naive tactics!

Referee? one word....speechless!!!

Rant over, and it's only Salisbury away on Tuesday!!
Piece of cake!!

COME ON YOU YELLOWWSSAA!!

Neither team deserved anything more than a point.

Dorchester were not very good, to say the least, while we seem to have reverted to try and win football matches without a functioning midfield. Say hello to last October/November/December, etc.

That didn't work then and it didn't work today. Reggie was tearing their left back a new one, so what did we do? Erm, we didn't deliver the ball to him after the first 10 minutes.

To say I'm nonplussed over how we managed the game would be an understatement. At best, it was a poor day at the office, but I'm unconvinced the lessons that ought to have been learned months ago have been fully taken on board. Today's performance was a shambles, It was like watching a bunch of triallists doing their best while having no understanding who was around them and what they can do.

It had a feeling of a pre-season game about it all. I know we have nothing to play for but there's no need to be thinking of holidays already instead of playing football.

We still have the play offs to play for Fingers. We have 9 games left including a game in hand and could realistically overhaul the three teams on 53 or 54 points to take the last play off spot.

This would not happen if we played as if this season is write off though.

I have one question which some of you could answer. I have noticed many times not just at Farnborough that a player who has scored a brace of goals is then sent off, denying him a chance of a hat trick and likely victory.
There is of course the possibility of a slight injury to take into account but I can think of two suspect reasons that either management considers that the player may think he has done his bit or the club does not want to give away the match ball!

Do any of you think of a more likely reason for such substitutions?

I hope the club is going to appeal Barts' red card as other than square up to their #11 he did nothing wrong.

He moved his head towards him as far as I could see, which is a sending off.

Seeing as it cost us a win - we were clearly on the up when we equalised - I think he should apologise. Just my opinion...

Perry was simply sacrificed Brian when Barts got sent off. And we never give match balls away, they are too expensive!!!

To quote the immortal Andrew McNeill (NLP), they 'locked foreheads like rutting stags at the height of the mating season both pushing at each other, heels dug into the turf so as not to give an inch of ground.'
