Well, at least it was only one of those meaningless pre-season games...

Unfortunately our pre-season now runs from late October to mid-August.

There is a report of the game on the Woking forum.
Paragraph four is highly amusing/embarrassing depending on your viewpoint.
I leave you to make your own mind up!!
Tried to cut and paste but it won't let me.

I presume there were a some trialist defenders as Spencer's comments in the local rage are that he needs to sort the defence out and heads will roll - the revolving door is set to go again.

the problem lies with management, not players.

so much for building a squad for this season which he started back in February.

Quote:
The Yellows' line-up may forever remain a mystery. Their squad is understood to be subject to regular change. On approaching members of their management team with the naïve question of whether or not there was a team sheet, I was met with smiles and the man called Spencer looked skywards and said something to the effect of 'Who knows?'. Someone else walked past me and ask if everything was ok; when I responded 'apart from not knowing who's playing', the response was 'I'm only the Chairman; I haven't a clue'.

Also, about Day railing against the defence in the local paper. Some free advice: having a coherent midfield and conducting proper training sessions might help ....

Interesting the Woking Goalkeeper, Berti Schotterl must be on dual reg as he played for Kingstonian against Tonbridge Angels last evening.
