Should be apparent to all by now that we're never even going to make the play-offs while he remains in post.

Once we get turned over by Merthyr in the Trophy that means our season will be over in October this time. Efficient.

Still, at least that means Spencer can start building for the 2019/20 season from November onwards.

He doesn't even bother to do post match interviews now does he?

It must be close to the point where someone could just start a fan owned club and overtake this rubbish within a few seasons.

I knew this was a wind when you described him as a manager.

unfortunately his interviews are no more. i say unfortunately as 'Spencer post match interview bingo' was becoming too easy

I see Arsene Wenger has had various approaches from around the world and hopes to start work again on Jan 1.

It is not at all likely that he has had a contact from Farnborough FC to serve in some capacity, thankfully! He is likely to 'nip' off to Japan.

I did once think, however, that Arsene Wenger would be a good choice as a mentor for Spencer because of the historical goodwill dating back to that memorable 4th round cup tie switched to Highbury in January 2003.

Interesting replies. Boro fans of more than one era were educated by honest, skilled practitioners who showed what could be achieved on limited resources. The frustration is that we evidently now have sufficient resources to assemble a decent bunch of footballers whilst showing no signs of understanding how to energise them into a coherent unit. Every screw up is followed by another turn of the well used revolving door and, a key symptom, organising meaningless friendlies instead of sorting it out in high quality training sessions. It's almost as if the management are allergic to putting in the necessary spade work for success and prefer winging it. Well that hasn't ever worked before, so why would it work now?

Indeed, Nigel. Spencer has shown that he is very adept at assembling a team which is much less than the sum of its parts - he does it several times a season.

Lot of talk of 'groundhog' day in the media at the moment. Boro fans get it repeatedly, every year.

The definition of insanity is repeatedly doing the same thing yet expecting different results.

Its also called banging your head against a brick wall in trying to stop someone doing it!!!

There comes a time when you have to say enough is enough, and let them get on with it!!!

An empty stadium might concentrate the mind, but I doubt even that will be enough!!!
