Stroud is the goalie who's been on trial since the first friendly.

Werner-Ely does not come up on Google.

Under the cosh for most of the match, lucky to win against a bigger and faster H&W. Their number 7 was the best player on the pitch and gave the Boro defence a torrid time. Despite this Boro's no: 3 had a good game and as mentioned by Jules the guy playing with the no: 6 shirt looks a good player and I suspect has played at a higher level. Biggest problem appears to be no mid field link up and Connor and Michael and the no: 10 lacked any real service. It was a friendly so difficult to know how Boro will perform in the league this season based on this match. However think it will be a tough season without more / better support in the midfield.

Jack Battie IIRC. Signed from us by Godalming for a free but released by a new manager shortly after. Then played for Westfield, Walton Casuals and dual reg at Chertsey.

Thought we played really well today. More than held our own against a good Hampton side. Thought our 6 was decent. 3 and 8 struggled in my opinion. I know you can't judge much from a friendly, but the squad is looking decent for the season.

I quite enjoyed that today, and thought we gave a good account against a stronger team. Their No7 was head and shoulders above the rest ( not literally as he was small and stocky, but you know what I mean ), and the best player on the park by miles.

If that was Stroud in goal, and not Pidgeley, then I was very impressed. Should make for good competition!

Biggest problem was the midfield, with the front two/three not getting any decent service. This greatly improved in the second half with the introduction of Battie and Ruhle, and Barton going to left back.

If the trialist 6 can pair up with Pepera, then Oseni could move to CMF, which I think suits him best.

Good run out though, and with CJ, and Louis to come back in it's a promising start.

By the way, who was the guy doing the warm up, and coaching for us in the first half? Gave a good impression of himself, but had to take a back seat second half when Spencer came down from his high position in the video unit! Still appeared to be offering some good input though!

Good start, so on to Tuesday, and another good test with Woking.

If my memory serves me correctly it was spoken about over at our end that the club paid £1000 for him which we thought was silly money. In addition it was mentioned that Battie would be re-imbursing the club for their outlay from his wages. It seemed that he was deserate to get away from Farnborough and Spencer wanted money for him and that was the only way to do it.
Whatever way it was it was a damned stupid, pathetic way of going about things.

Incidently Gees have signed Pat Cox!

I thought he came from Guildford City, and then went back when he left us.
Either way I hope differences have been sorted, as I thought he looked pretty useful yesterday.

He came to Farnborough from Guildford City.
When he departed Godalming I thought he went back to City. I didn't realise Westfield came into the equation.
I think attitude was one of the things that were mentioned at Godalming.
Still, I hope everyone has learned and as they say "the boy comes good".

Match report from the Hampton & Richmond website:
http://www.hamptonfc.net/news/farnborough-2-1-beavers-232914 3.html

Quote: "Farnborough broke the stranglehold on the stroke of half-time with a spectacular strike from Michael Fernandes, who was being watched by QPR."

I'm sure Michael will be watched by a fair number of clubs. It's down to him to hit the moneyball numbers that pro clubs are interested in - above all - these days. Moneyball's all about harnessing skill with making the right decisions to make a key difference when under pressure. He knows what these clubs are looking for and I'll be very pleased for him if he delivers consistently when the real thing starts.

And very impressive he was too, although I expect Pidgeley to back in for Tuesday's game Vs Woking ( one of his old clubs ).

Two pretty useful keepers, for a change, this season!

Keeping them happy? now that's another problem for any Manager!!

He's had a trial with Reading already previously:

He and various other players in our squad seem to be connected to some commercial football academy or other.
