Flares   Message 46768Mon, 28 May 2018 21:57  Go to next message

Watched the Villa Fulham play off the other night, which was quite enjoyable, but don't say that to my son ( Villa Supporter ), and I really wanted them to come up with the wolves, but hey ho, my second team won!!

Anyway, I digress. At the end of the game there seemed to be a wave of black and white flares raining down on to the pitch
(seems familiar) but just how do they get them in to somewhere like Wembley???

Secondly I noticed the Fulham Keeper running around with a black flare blazing away, which he duly lobbed in to the crowd!!!!

Bet Lewis Ferrell was impressed??, and I just wondered if there will be any repurcussions??

Not holding my breath!

Didn't see that Bob - smoke must have got into my eyes. Or I was crying with laughter at John Terry!

To be fair, when Fulham last got to Wembley we were all wearing flares.

See you in the Prem.

Bob,
I saw the flare being carried around by the Fulham keeper at the end.
Just didnt see where he got it from.
Off the floor and handed to him by anyone official.

Hi bob the Fulham keeper did throw the flare but to the perimeter of the pitch nowhere near the crowd so shouldn't be any further action

Good, glad it didn't do any harm.
Still interested to know how these things get in to somewhere like Wembley!!!
Pretty poor security!!

I m always surprised that people are surprised at flares getting in. Unless they pat down everyone going in and make people completely empty their bags then it's incredibly easy to get them in.

I'm sorry, that excuse is not good enough!!

Wembley is a major entertainment venue which houses thousands of customers each time the doors open!!

Security 'should' be as near as you can get to 100%, although I agree it's not always possible!!

Last time I went there, Walsall and Bristol Rovers play off, there were bag searches and frisk downs, outside the turnstiles and I, for one, was very happy to go along with that!! Even drinks being taken in were poured away!!

God forbid if some nutter brought in something a lot worse than a flare!!!

What would peoples reactions be then???
