Football is a team game. A team that includes the owners, the staff and volunteers, the management team, the playing squad, the junior teams and associated families, the fans and everyone in the surrounding area that looks out for their local team's results.
One guy issuing dictats, particularly if stupid amounts of money are spent, may create the illusion of a successful club. We've been there and have bought the T-shirt (twice).
One guy issuing dictats, but without the money or much aptitude, is worse still.
A successful club can only be created by growing a community, a sense of "us" where all are persuaded to pull in the same direction.
Although I applaud keeping costs under control and being sensible about outgoings, I don't see any indication that those in charge appreciate how semi-pro football clubs work. On the contrary, the retreat into dull "us" and "them" stuff is undermining the Club and will ultimately lead to failure.
A different direction continues to be available. Let's see if the penny drops.

I have the sad feeling, Nigel, that the penny won't drop until what little amount of income there is, ( attendances and bums on seats being one) becomes insufficient to keep even the basics alive!!!
As is constantly being said, great work behind the scenes is being dragged down by the front end product, and until that is rectified the spiral will continue!
EVERYTHING about the Club is influenced by what happens on the pitch!! Surely that must be sinking in somewhere??
If not, I refer you to Private Fraser's famous words....
