Stadium sponsor announced   Message 45900Tue, 13 February 2018 16:58  Go to next message

Excellent news on the main site of a new sponsorship deal for the Stadium naming rights. Now to be known as the Easy As HGV Stadium, on a 2 year deal.

More excellent work behind the scenes.
Lets hope it will help improve the front end product!!

I was wondering whether the PRE boys and girls would start singing a version of "Easy like Sunday morning", but then realised that they have gone too!

Well done to Day and Prince. The stadium might have a name, but nobody will be in it whilst those two clowns remain at the helm.

You raise a serious point. At the very top level the admission money is just a blip on a spreadsheet for the likes of Chelsea. The only reason these clubs pay attention to fans turning up in person to cheer their team on is the atmosphere that they create. Ever watched a TV game played behind closed doors? Very, very dull.

Perhaps the Club's owners might want to reflect on that. Cherrywood is a big non-League ground. With 200 or so rattling within its confines, there is no atmosphere at all. Taking steps to to get that to 500 and beyond would change the atmosphere markedly for the better. And (who knows?) the better atmosphere might inspire home players to achieve better results which, in turn, might inspire those who attended to inspire their mates to come along to the next home game?

Inspirational thoughts feed on themselves.

Has anyone here found themselves in a nightclub on a Friday night where 40 or so punters are hanging around, wishing they were somewhere else?

Over to you.

Very well put indeed Nigel.
One of the best posts of the season.....So logical and sensible
Time to give up the day job and you would get my vote to run Farnborough FC.

Indeed the atmosphere at Cherrywood is so much better with a decent attendance in it, just think how good it felt when Hereford visited recently, apart from the couple of pyromaniacs, and I just wished it could be like that all the time, and we all can remember when it was!!

I still say that the only way to get back to anything like it is to present a product on the pitch that earns it!!

Great work being done behind the scenes with new and renewed sponsorship is very welcome, and lets hope it makes it way to the front for, as I've always said,
EVERYTHING AT THE CLUB IS INFLUENCED BY WHAT HAPPENS ON THE PITCH

Until that comes about the Club will remain in it's static state, or worse!!

Bob. I'm on the same page.

Boro' fans have had to put up with various owners who didn't give a flying one about the fans, apart from taking their money to part-fund their fantasies (Westley and Hollis, I'm looking at you).

So, this time it's different. Maybe our current owner is confused by the negative feedback. But longstanding Boro' fans have been through this before and many have decided to walk. So the trick is to reverse this trend by showing why spending money watching Farnbrough FC is a good use of leisure time and money.

The current on-the-pitch shambles is not a good start But, who knows, there may be a Eureka moment? We shall find out soon enough.

Rather Harsh to lump Hollis with Westley!

I believe Hollis wanted the best for the fans as much as himself. He got caught out by the finanicial slump while trying to do to much to soon.

He was always open, approachable and I think he very much had the fans interest at heart.

He also freely admitted he got it wrong bringing in Steve King, and tried to readdress the financial burden that was created by bringing Garry Haylock in.

Despite Hollis handing over to Day, he, along with the fans have developed a fantastic stadium which is now woefully under used.

I would have Simon Hollis and Neal Dent back in a heartbeat over Day and Prince!

It has always had a name. CHERRYWOOD ROAD. Leave some things alone. I can understand maybe if it was a new ground, but it isn't.

Isn't it the John Roberts Ground?
