reflections   Message 45569Sat, 13 January 2018 18:23  Go to next message

Well I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed the game today and, in the circumstances, it was very entertaining and well done to everyone involved.

After the last few days of despair at times, the players put in a great shift of work, which is very encouraging and bodes well if they can stay together, without tinkering to much!!

I particularly point out Rob Bartley at 5 and Nathaniel Oseni at 6, who stood out, as they did on Wednesday, with great aplomb. Oseni's coolness, control and vision is something we have been missing all season in central midfield.

Two excellent finds Spencer and well done, and that is from someone that has been super critical in the past, but credit where it's due!!

Link that as well to Matt Campbell up front who never stopped running, chasing and harrying the defence, culminating in Connor's goal from his chasing a lost cause, superb.
He reminds me of when Perry first came here, never stops running. Wonder if there is room for both??

Also well done to Merthyr for a spirited effort to the game, and I honestly thought they were going to nick it at the end, but honours even in the end. Great support and fine voice from their good travelling support, who gave a good boost to our bar takings thank you, hope everything works out well for you in the future.

Finally though a well done to the referee today for an excellent game. Let it flow, had a word when needed, no flurry of yellow cards, and took the right actions when the 'handbags' situation got out of control towards the end.
Well played sir, and wish we had a few more officials like yourself.

So all in all a satisfactory day and result, and lets hope this is the start, as predicted, for next season.

P.S.F. Number 1 over. score 2-2

Number 2 next Saturday Dunstable at home.

COME ON YOU YELLOWWSSAA!!

I completely agree with you views Bob and would only add that I felt the bust-up at the end probably cost us a win as we seemed to lose focus after the incident.

However, a good effort to equalise and a draw was a fair result over all.

Looking forward to next weekend now.

The officials were awful again. Missed at least 3 clear cut handball decisions. Constantly gave free kicks for no apparent reasons. The only thing he got right was sending Connor off

Funny how different people have different views, isn't it?, but if we were all the same life would be boring!!

Agree to one glaring handball miss, by both officials, club shop side, but overall we have had a lot worse than that fella!!

Looking forward to Saturday.

COME ON YOU YELLOWWSSAA!!
