As I have mentioned before Spencer Day is forever changing the keeper . I think last season's stat will show we also used at least five different keepers. Defence wise we are a shambles this season and until the manager can get a half decent centre half and keeper the team will continue to leak goals. It's been clear since the season started we have needed an experienced centre half. Why SD thinks Josh or Keith can play there is beyond me. Today again clearly showed why this team concede so many goals. Two very poor sides and Boro were lucky to win today. Happy New Year everyone.

Terrible start, but we slowly got back in to it when Keith was pushed forward in to midfield, and we led 2-1.

Then the left back got injured and Keith got pushed in to cover and our shape became awful again, and we let them dominate.

Two sloppy goals against and its 2-3.

Jack Barton was on and we started to gain a bit in the midfield.
Just why Jack can't get a regular start in midfield is beyond me!!
Back to 3-3 with a great header from Connor after a good cross from Nick, and they started to buckle.

A fabulous run at the defence, with a Moses like parting of the ways from Basingstoke, let in young Ellington for a fine finish to kill them off.

They got a bit ragged after that and the Captain decided to adopt WWF rules and body slammed a Boro player to the floor for an absolutely stupid, on his part, red card!

A good three points, but maybe a draw would have been fairer.

Shame to lose Curo, but we knew it had to happen sometime!!

Thanks for some great moments Jamie, all the best.

COME ON YOU YELLOWWSSAA!!

It was Dan Walker who crossed for the goal not Nick.

Look at the GD in in the table:

Only the bottom 2 have conceded more goals than us.
Only 8 teams have scored more than us.

Considering we hoped we would be nudging the playoffs at the start of the season, going forward we certainly have the team, however defensively we are absolute bobbins (and would also be in the league below).

Some of the 26 fingered apemen from down the M3 were not very happy! Awful goalkeeping and defending, but worth it to see us beat them.

And no one has mentioned Roy Hodgson and Ray Lewington being in attendance.

Given that I seriously doubt they were looking to enhance the Palace squad, were they here to pick up management nous from Spencer?

Completely agree with Bob about the team suffering when Keith was moved to left back and I have to admit that I was surprised that it was not Adam or Josh that were moved wide (being a left footer, Adam would have been my preference).

It is such a shame that we have fans saying players were rubbish, especially one playing his first game for the club.

Personally, I was quite impressed with the 10 and, as well as a few good runs with the ball, his movement off the ball and closing down of defenders made for a decent debut.

Really enjoyable game today. Appreciate having a local non league club where you can catch up with friends, support the team and see goals galore. Happy New Year.

Very pleased to see Connor Calcutt on the score sheet today.

Lewis Ellington and Dan Walker showed how poor Basingstoke were when up against players running at them with the ball.

Undefeated in three league home games. Well done Boro!
