From their forum

"A lad given the responsibility of Captain has the audacity to celebrate in front of us pretending to drive a car. Not only rubbing it in our faces but also that of the FA they should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. As far as I'm concerned in that situation they got off lightly. To goad supporters in that situation shows a complete and utter lack of respect for the club and competition"

Whilst it was not the wisest thing to do, there is no justification for the threats made to our players and fans. Sounds more like a case of 'if you can't take it, don't give it'

After the confrontation from their fans at the postponed fixture and if the above post is true about the home fan's actions, would it be possible to request the banning of Banbury fans from the return league fixture on safety grounds as it seems a minority of knuckle-draggers in red shirts are intent on creating a problem?

I'd suggest it's not our problem.

Unless there has been major agro, which would be a police matter, my suggestion would be that we leave it to Banbury to sort out any of their unruly 'fans' and we continue to welcome allcomers to the San Cheerio.

No point in pouring fuel on a tiny fire lit by a few morons (allegedly) and it puts Banbury in the front line to sort out their act.

Agree, what 'appears' to be a minor incident, shouldn't justify banning away supporters from San Cherrio!!

It would only inflame the situation, and it's probably best to just let it all die down before they come to us, especially if we fixture it for the back end of the season, and I can't see that many travelling for a midweek fixture anyway!!

We don't go to them in the League until March either, so should all be forgotten by then, I hope!!

Anyway, the obvious thing is, if there are unruly elements from any Club, is to segregate, and give them the Moor Road end!!

Should be able to steward 20 or 30 in relative comfort down there.

Forget Banbury.

The fact is both teams had 120mins of football and we won after that. We are in the next round with a home time to a local side. Much needed funds into the club and another home game on weds night. Well done to the team, hopefully they'll be fit for weds.

Just got back.

It was a decent team performance (especially when we remembered to play it on the ground)

Josh's goal was somewhat lucky but the penalty which Perry converted was stonewall. Bit of a miscommunication between their defender and keeper let Nic in for the winner.

Bring on Hartley Witney!

The huge majority of Banbury fans are just like any other group of fans. They want their team to win, but don't act silly if they don't.

Unfortunately, a minority, some barely sentient, let us know what they were thinking, if thinking is the right word.

On to the game, we were very good going forward and could, and should, have scored several more goals. The usual trials and tribulations at the back didn't gift too many clear cut chances. I was particularly impressed by how every member of the team worked their socks off for each other and with their fitness levels. We lasted a 120 minute trip with no substitutions with aplomb. A lot of hard work was behind a performance that was streets ahead of some of the guff that has been served up this season. Good stuff. Let's grab hold of why things worked today and use it wisely.

Just tried to look at the Banbury forum, you could yesterday but now it has gone register to view. I expect Nigel may want to alter his links page.

In a relating story, Chester took 10 hours to get home from Leyton Orient on Tuesday night due to the M1 closure at Northampton.

I listened to the Banbury manager's report. He was very disappointed with his team's performance yesterday. He claimed they were 'a million miles from professional'.

Maybe they all read the same story in the NLP today Mark!

Just backs up our evidence to the F.A!!

Don't agree with Nigel resorting to 'register to view' for our website though, why should we change our stance for them?

Nigel is an excellent Moderator and can weed out anything untoward very well, and we don't have to respond to things from trolls!

Time to move on from this I think.

COME ON YOU YELLOWWSSAA!!

I was referring to the fact that Nigel only links forums that you are able to read without registering first. Much like this one

Yes they have gone all MI5 on their forum, maybe something they don't want us to see.

Looking through Snappers as usual excellent photos. Bit cheeky from Nic and Perry but if your going to string up some half arsed scrawlings on a bedsheet insulting our club, don't be surprised if you get a response.

Hartley Wintney are having another great season, hopefully the lads get a good rest for Wednesday. Another £5000 if we win and you'll probably hear heads imploding with rage in Oxfordshire at the final whistle.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

This forum has a longstanding policy of not providing links to club forums where users are required to register to read them. Accordingly the link to the Banbury United forum has been removed. Should Banbury's forum administrator reverse their decision in the future the link will be reinstated.
