So what highs and lows will Farnborough match or beat this season?
(Obviously, there is no chance of improving our best ever League position this year)
2011/12: Conference South - 2nd out of 22
2009/10: FAC4Q - L2-4 Salisbury City in a replay
2010/11: FAC4Q - L0-5 Dover Athletic in a replay
2014-15: FAT3 - L0-2 North Ferriby
2016-17: Southern League Central - 2nd out of 22
2007-08: FAC Preliminary Round: L0-2 Chesham United
2016-17: FAT Preliminary Round; L1-5 Barnstaple Town
Compare and contrast with Farnborough Town:
1991-92: Conference National - 5th out of 22
2002-03: FAC4 - L1-5 Arsenal
1992-93: FAT QF - L2-3 Witton Albion
2002-03: FAT QF - L1-2 Tamworth
1975-76: FAV SF - L1-2 Billericay Town (over 2 legs)
1976-77: FAV SF - L2-6 Billericay Town (over 2 legs)
The lowliest league position is not recorded - so that would be 1967-68, when the club was formed.
Worst recorded results in the FAC, FAT and FAV:
1972-73: FAC1Q - L0-2 Alton Town
1975-76: FAC1Q - L1-2 Basingstoke Town
1979-80: FAC1Q - L0-1 Cray Wanderers
1977-78: FAV5 - L1-3 Hungerford Town
This site is interesting for stats nerds like me:

it really is about time we had a decent run in one of the cups, particularly the FA Cup where we could win a few quid.
I think the 1-5 defeat to Barnstaple in the Trophy was the low point of last year. Surely we can beat that this year!

Barnstaple did suck balls, agreed. Driving home from Royston was a pretty dark memory too.
That club statement at the start of December was a low as well.
The highs far outweighed the lows, last season, though and long may that continue.
That site will come in very handy, thanks Nigel.

Good post Nige.
Something tells me that the old club used up all of Farnboroughs 'cup magic' and we are doomed to an eternity of qualifying round knockouts and disappointments!
