Confirmed by club on twitter.

Get the car started... We're off to Hereford to exorcise some demons

Good!

Although the Southern will be the tougher league, I'm looking forward to renewing acquaintances with a fair few solid clubs who, gulp, have away fans.

And I'm looking forward even more to not having to make numerous visits to the grimmer parts of Essex!

You're right Nigel, much better footie, although it's not going to be easy.
Some 'proper' Clubs there though, and some 'real' football at last!!.

Glad, as you say, to be away from the Essex Bermuda Triangle, and we meet up again with your beloved Kings Lynn!!

Roll on July.

COME ON YOU YELLOWWSSAA!!

Who are the clubs that are not "proper clubs" in the Southern Premier next season ?.

Clubs in current or previous incarnations that have a history of being solid and (relatively) well supported Southern League (and above) clubs, in some cases going back to when the Southern was the level immediately below FL Division 4:-

Merthyr - Conference National (and Football League pre-WWII)
Kettering - Conference National
King's Lynn - Conference North
Basingstoke - Conference South
Weymouth - Conference National
Dorchester - Conference South
Tiverton
Redditch - Conference National
Hereford - Football League

Also, before the boundaries between the leagues were shifted, these clubs had strong records in the Isthmian/Athenian Leagues:-

Hitchin
Slough - Conference National
Chesham

It's a shame Salisbury and Cambridge City rather screwed things up, by not getting promoted and getting relegated respectively.

Compare the above with the Ryman, where Kingstonian is the only ex-Conference National club (and, arguably, Enfield Town are the true successor club to Enfield, who were a very strong Conference National club).

So what you are saying in essence Nigel is that the Southern Prem is the place for failed business plans having yet another go at it while the Ryman is for clubs who are still having their first go :)
