Western Super Mare away   Message 50336Fri, 06 December 2019 15:36  Go to next message

Tomorrow we face Western Super Mare away and I'd like to think we can win it comfortably. They currently sit 14th in the table on 20 points, which is only 6 points behind us. If we do manage to get a victory tomorrow, then we should push well into the top 10 (providing the games involving Salisbury, Poole and Gosport go in our favour)

I envisage the scoreline as a 2-1 win. We unfortunately conceded to Dorchester last week, and I have a feeling it will happen again.

What is your prediction for the game?

Long trip, and a difficult place to play, always windy if I recall!!
They are a bit hit and miss, and their loanee has gone back to Exeter, but they have taken another from Hereford, so not sure what to make of them.
If we play like we can, then we ought to get a good result.
Here's hoping.

Is there an Eastern Super Mare ... or maybe I'm confused and thinking of Swindon Sub Marine?

Sorry, I've turned into the grammar police. Not good.

I do apologise - I always thought it was spelt that way, and I'm usually good with my grammar and spelling!

No worries Tom.

Weston finally slid down from ConfSouth several years later than they should have done, being the beneficiary of more than one AGM Cup. But they're here now.

If we remember to defend properly then it'll be a win, as our pace and accuracy can undo any defence at this level.

So go for it! (but please remember to do the dull defensive stuff too).

But I do worry about Tom, Nigel.

He's an optimist!🤣

Mickey, you can't be anything else other than an optimist at this Club, or maybe just an old cynic like myself!!

Tom is a 14 year old young man, hoping to make a possible career in media or sports journalism and, from what we read, he's going along the right lines!

All his own work, and thoughts, without too much encouragement.

Biased?, yes I am, he's my grandson, and I'm proud he's chosen to start in the 'real' football world other than the plastic non-real superstar realm!!

Shame he lives 120 miles away, in the Midlands, but he has become an avid Boro supporter, and long may it continue.

No pressure from Grandad of course!!!

He still ribs me about Wolves though, but I can live with it these days. Long as they can hold on to Nuno!!
It's all surreal though isn't it?

Tom

Welcome to the board and good luck in your ambition.

Take the words of cynics like me with a pinch or two of salt!

It's all football, so enjoy whatever is served up by Spencer, Nuno or whoever.

But don't forget one important thing:

Come on you YELLOWWWZA!

Oi , that's my tag line Mickey!! and it's YELLOWSSAA!!, or DARK BLUES/YELLOWSSAA this season, doesn't work does it??

So it will have to be 'come on the boro', until the proper kit returns!

Still can't take to the Baggies style away strip though!!
