A game featuring two lively attacks.

We went for pace tonight and it paid dividends with both goals. The first came when Reggie was set free on the right and he wrongfooted the defenders by cutting inside. He passed sideways to Andrew Sealey-Harris who jinked past his man and arrowed his shot into the bottom corner. A sign of what we are capable of.

The second came from a terrific run by John Oyenuga (who was immense tonight) which ended in a 50/50 with the Casuals keeper, whose attempted clearance looped back across the edge of the box where Connor Cullen nipped between two defenders to guide in a neat header.

We could have had several more - in particular Perry Coles (who played well) would not have been pleased at missing a near open goal after another (of many) fast passing moves. That said, Casuals were also bright up front, with the fast feet of Cheyce Grant on the right and the brute force and pace of Arel Amu through the centre tormenting our defence. Casuals struck the woodwork three times and Liam Beach made several decent stops to keep them out.

Our defence looked far more solid with the addition of Adeoye Olumuyiwa, signed on loan from Weymouth, however the midfield continued to look lightweight when we don't have the ball. Bryan Akongo was trying to do the work of two in attempting to win back possession and sides better than Casuals will take full advantage unless we tweak our shape and staff the midfield accordingly. It wasn't right tonight, but lessons should have been learned by the management team. On we go to Beaconsfield on Saturday.
