North Ferriby F.C. were wound up in the High Court this morning, and all over a debt of £7k!!, although there appear to be other debts in addition not claimed for!
It doesn't seem so long ago that they came here, with a team of giants, to blow us away and out of the F.A. Trophy, does it?
It's sad to see any Club's demise, and we know how it feels, so commiseration to the genuine footie fans of Ferriby, but it's yet another case of money men overstretching their budgets!!
Despite what we may feel personally, re Owners, Managers etc, you have to appreciate that we appear to be living within our means at last, and the Club is still here!!
So, as the first casualty, does that mean the AGM Cup will begin a bit earlier this year??

I thought this might be of interest. The comments are from a good friend of mine down at Bognor Regis Town who has always had North Ferriby close to his heart.
"The former sec and chairman, Les Hare, who resigned because of the owners just aftet the trophy final win, has made an application yesterday to the North East counties prem league for next season. The supporters club are with him. He had spoken to Ferriby parish council to get a contract of hire for the ground and they are looking favourably at it. There are also said to be local businessmen ready to back him.
Les Hare has been with the club for well over 20 years and l wont go into the reasons he had to resign. All l will say is look no further than the Hull City owner, whose daughter and son in law were the owners at the time. It was bloody disgraceful. And Les was said to have had a nervous breakdown not long after. He oversaw the the great rise of the club which included two Wembley visits and many promotions culminating one to the National League only 4 years ago.
People may ask why no one came forward to pay the sum of 7500 pounds to save them. The simple answer is that a shyster purchased the club and its position in the Northern Premier league in.order to move the club to a ground in Hull and change its name. Two weeks ago the namr change was dismissed by the FA and the shyser decided he didnt want to put anymore money in. It wad said he had stripped everything to the bone and hadnt put a penny in. No one in the area wanted anything to do with him hence the winding up order. I asume Les had started maki g plans when assuming the club would be wound up."
